Administrative and research activities at ILCAA are conducted through and/or monitored by various special boards and committees. All boards and committees include eminent scholars and specialists from outside the Institute to reflect the opinions of the academic community and maintain transparency in ILCAA’s operations.
The Institute has two boards and six committees as follows:
The role of each board and committee and its members in the academic year 2025 is presented below.
The Advisory Board serves as an advisory body to the Director on all matters related to the ILCAA operations, as well as the essential matters of joint usage/research. The Board consists of ILCAA staff and distinguished scholars and specialists from other institutions, reflecting the Institute’s inter-university nature.
The committee, composed of both ILCAA staff and outside members, examines new ILCAA Joint Research Projects and evaluates ongoing ones.
The committee is responsible for the language and linguistics training offered by the Institute, such as Intensive Language Courses and Field Linguistics Workshops.
The editorial committee advises the director on matters related to the Institute’s policy and screening of publications.
The committee is responsible for discussing essential matters related to the Overseas Satellite Offices
The committee is responsible for advising the director on matters related to JaCMES from an international perspective.
The committee advises the director on matters related to the Institute’s research collaboration system from an international perspective.
