About the Project

Project term: April, 2016–March, 2019

This project intends to clarify the contemporary meaning of commodities and services based on Islam (e.g., Islamic finance, the halal industry, and Muslim friendly tourism) and the production and consumption of them by Muslims through the joint research by researchers, from the academic backgrounds of cultural anthropology, area studies, management science and tourism studies, by studying regions in the Middle East; North Africa; and South, Southeast, and Central Asia.
