モンゴル高原を中心に分布するモンゴル系の言語の記録と記述に従事しています

My main research area is Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Mongolia, where I have been documenting and describing several Mongolic languages, especially those with few speakers. In particular, I have long conducted fieldwork on the Shinekhen Buryat language spoken in the Shinekhen River basin in the Hulunbuir, northern part of Inner Mongolia, China. The speakers of Shinekhen Buryat have not lived on the land for generations. Their ancestors emigrated from Russia in the early 20th century and were allowed to reside around the Shinekhen River basin. Therefore, their language has some features of the old Russian vocabulary and grammatical features influenced by Chinese after they emigrated. I am trying to find out how to describe and document such dynamic changes caused by language contact.
