Asian and African Languages and Linguistics (AALL) is an annual refereed linguistic journal first issued in 2006. In principle, it deals with descriptive studies on minority languages in Asia and Africa, based on the original data mainly obtained by the author’s own fieldworks. The linguists at ILCAA fill the role of editors of the journal. All papers will be fully refereed by two anonymous reviewers.

AALL has become an open-access electronic journal since the publication of volume 8. All the articles are archived in the Prometheus-academic collectionsof the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Library.

The aim of this journal is (i) to deepen our knowledge of individual languages, (ii) to share understanding of the huge structural varieties that exist in languages of human beings, and (iii) to contribute to developing new perspectives on typological/historical/theoretical studies.

Each volume consists of (1) results (papers) of the joint research projects of ILCAA and (2) source materials (texts, wordlists, and sketch grammars); contributions are invited to (2) (source materials). For those who are interested in submitting a paper, please refer to the guidelines for contributors(122KB).
