Lingka Salon: Discover the Cultures of Tibet and the Himalayas

On November 6 and 7, we will open a salon where you can explore many different aspects of the cultures of Tibet and the Himalayas. Lingka is a Tibetan word for an outing to enjoy the outdoors, much like a picnic. We hope you will enjoy our small exhibitions and events in that same relaxed spirit. The Tibetan Studies Workshop and the annual conference of the Japanese Association for Tibetan Studies will be taking place at the same time, so you will also have the chance to meet and talk with researchers. Everyone is welcome—please feel free to drop by. Main Events - Picture Books and Children's Books from Tibet and the Himalayas Today (Nov. 6–7) - Kamishibai (Paper Theater) Performances and Picture Book Readings (Nov. 6 only) - Mini Exhibition of Tibetan Calligraphy by Kaoru Hanahara (Nov. 6–7) - Write Your Name in Tibetan Script (Nov. 6–7) - Free Booklet: SERNYA: Tibetan Literature and Filmmaking (Nov. 6–7) - Rasuwa Photo Exhibition (Nov. 6–7)
