On Friday, September 26, 2025, the NIHU Global Mediterranean Project at ILCAA will host a lecture by Dr. Sacha Alsancakli (ILCAA), “Gender and Power in a Turco-Persianate Epic Romance: An Exploration of the Agency and Representation of Warrior Princess Characters in the Muḥammad Ḥanafiyya Cycle.” Prof. Yuriko Yamanaka (National Museum of Ethnology) will serve as commentator. The event will be held in a hybrid format and is open to all with advance registration.
