With the rapid development of AI, highly accurate automatic speech transcription and machine translation have become possible for high-resource languages with many speakers and abundant data. In this talk, we will hear from two researchers from the Natural Language Processing Group in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame about whether such technologies can also be applied to low-resource languages with limited research data, and how these systems work.
