Research interests: Religious studies, Persian literature, Modern Iranian thought, Sufism
I am interested in exploring the spiritual world of Iranians living in Iranian society. To analyze this, I approach the topic from both religious studies and literary studies perspectives. My research focuses on the thoughts of Iranian religious intellectuals, whose ideas reflect a synthesis of Islamic teachings, Western philosophy, Persian literature, Sufism, and pre-Islamic Iranian culture. By analyzing their thoughts, I aim to reveal how people in Iranian society engage with their religion and cultural heritage.
Recently, I have also been researching Rumi’s Mathnavi, which Iranian religious intellectuals often refer to as “the Quran written in Persian,” from a comparative religion perspective. My interests also extend to areas such as Iranian cinema and the representation of the Middle Eastern world in Japan.
As of lately, I have been working on the following three research themes:
In addition to these, I am currently studying digital humanities, focusing on methods for constructing databases for literary works.
