About the Project

Project term: April, 2024–March, 2027

The social situation of migrants and the state of immigration studies have altered due to recent political instability and the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic: protective pressure against immigrants, division and decreased interaction between diasporas and people in the homeland, and new ties established by the internet. This project discusses theoretical and methodological issues to analyze the relationship among these phenomena, heritage languages, and identities within a contemporary context, exploring the potential and boundaries of the research.
