About the Project
Project term: April, 2023–March, 2026
Asia is a globally unique area wherein various writing systems have been established and used since ancient times. Studies on Asian scripts contribute to the grammatology. For the purpose, this project plans to cover a wide range of writing systems in Asia including ancient ones, such as Indic scripts, Sinoform scripts, and hieroglyphs. Project members have all conducted multifaceted studies of writing systems, especially on the shapes of glyphs, and have a comprehensive understanding of principles of writing system. In the third term, this project mainly aims to elaborate the definitions of grammatological terms discussed during the first and second terms and publish a glossary of grammatology.
