Research interests: history of Mecca and Medina, historiography, manuscripts, translation, mobility, transregional cultural exchange


Recent Interests:

Her current project explores: (1) the circulation and reception of Arabic manuscripts on the history of Mecca and Medina, especially in the early modern Persianate world and the Ottoman Empire, (2) translations of local histories of the Hijaz into Persian and Ottoman Turkish, and (3) historiographical practices in the Ottoman Hijaz.
