About the Project

Project term: April, 2025–March, 2028

This project examines how migrants and refugees have built relationships when relocating from/to multiethnic and multi-religious areas. It addresses Lebanon with its neighboring countries, Turkey, the former Yugoslav countries, and Hungary, covering the period from the late 19th century to the present. It aims to explore the actual conditions of migration, with special attention to the connectivity of migrants and refugees with people in the countries of transit and settlement, focusing on the strategies which the migrants and refugees have employed to secure the place of relocation. This project is an international joint research project involving researchers specializing in history, political science, sociology, and the study of thought.
