Primary data (audio and video data) obtained during fieldwork in linguistics is often not made public; however, this data could be a useful resource for researches as well as a valuable cultural heritage asset for the language community that provided the data. In recent years, many researchers have realized this and have begun to archive primary data in an easily accessible format; researchers have also created databases that can be searched. In this context, this study discusses how to better annotate, preserve, and publish linguistic data.
