About the Project

Project term: 2020

Although the race theory of Africa left scars on the history of the continent, there are numerous unsolved problems regarding the formation of this theory and its historical role. This study, based on historical research, aims to consider the historical significance of the race theory of Africa by examining the relationship between race theory in the Islamic world and the European race theory of Africa formed in the Modern Period. Furthermore, it will compare the historical influence of race theory on several areas of Africa. The project members will hold a discussion at annual meetings based on their research on the race theory of Africa in their specialized fields.
