Souk El Had in Agadir

Agadir, port in the southeast of Morocco, is a city with mild climate and a popular resort area today. This city was also the locale for the historic event “Agadir Crisis”, one of the causes of World War I, in which Germany sent a battleship in reaction to the deployment of French troops for suppression of the Berber rebellion in 1911. In Souk El Had, the large market located at the center of the city, people can buy abundant local agricultural products and almost all other necessities. Tajine made with these vegetables and fresh seafood from the sea is a superlative home-cooked meal with delicate taste.
