Flowering Season

Many flowers start blooming at the same time after the rainy season in February in the rainforest of Peninsular Malaysia. The Batek people (one of the Orang Asli groups) move to the forest to enjoy this blessing. Every morning, they hop aboard rafts and pull in the gill nets that they set the previous evening. After eating the fish, they forage in the forest and dress up with flowers. One of the things that they enjoy is finding blooming durian trees so that they can look forward to the fruiting season.
