Speciality book shop of Kachin publication

The photo shows a book shop that sells books written in Kachin languages in Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State. Reflecting small distribution of Kachin publications, it is the virtually only specialty shop in Myitkyina for Kachin books.
The appearance of the shop does not look different from other book shops in this area, except the two calendars whose covers feature Kachin girls with traditional costumes hanged at the front of the shop. But if you enter into the shop, you will find Jinghpaw dictionaries and books, and sometimes books written in other Kachin languages on a few bookshelves in the foreground.
The person coming out of the shop is the owner, who has been my friend for more than ten years. He contributes to preserving local languages and cultures by reprinting old literature related to Kachin in the colonial period and publishing Jinghpaw dictionaries.
