Visit to museums

The season of new green leaves in May is the season for school excursions in Japan. The museums and historical sites which I visited with teachers or parents remain deeply in my memory. The exhibitions teach history, specific ideology and sometimes raise national identity among visitors. National glory, hardships and consciousness about the enemy are also taught through it in conflict-affected regions.

Regardless of the contents of the exhibitions, there are various kinds of visitors to the museums. When I visited the newly opened military museum, I heard the chatter of happy children with their mother near the gate. Flowers in the garden bloomed in brilliant red beside the family taking rest. Passing by them, I wondered for a while what kind of memory it will be for the children visited this site.
