Gods on the street art

In Cotonou, the economic capital of the Republic of Benin in West Africa, there are streets with various paintings as street art all along the sides of the road. One of the themes is the gods of the indigenous faith Vodun. The ones in the picture are the masked god of ancestral resurrection, known as Egungun to the Yoruba and Kuvito to the Fon. They dress in colourful clothes and dance to the beat of a drum. Motorbike taxis in yellow shirts, a mark for taxis, pass in front of the wall.
