Interethnicity at a rural bus stage

While the capital functions are now being diligently transferred, Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania, still keeps a calm country-side atmosphere, unlike in Dar es Salaam, the commercial capital of the country, or Arusha, a growing international city located near the border with Kenya. This picture was taken at a bus stage located in the suburb of Dodoma. The signbord of the lefthand café has in its name Gweno, a small ethnic group based in Usambala mountains which is 300 km away from the place, while the name of the stationary shop on the righthand has Nyole, an Ugandan ethnic group whose homeland is located 800 km away. Though it is unclear whether these names came from those groups, one may feel that the signboard quietly but proudly shows an interethnic aspect of the city that has existed long before the current political reform.
