Putao, situated in the far north of Myanmar, is home to Kachin and Shan people.
On a clear day in winter, snow-capped Himalayan mountains can be seen from this remote town in northernmost Myanmar. Hkakabo Razi with its height of 5,881 meters is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. Putao is a growing tourist destination for Myanmar travelers seeking to see and touch snow.
