The Gooroo, or Ghool Mahommed Khaun, Ghiljye
The Ghilzay were the main force for riot against the British. Guru, the man pictured, also fought the British near Qandahar, but was defeated, and surrendered. He was the authentic ruler of the Ghilzay. The author met him in a caravanserai in Kabul and spoke with him through an interpreter.
