Ladies of Caubul
The seated woman is a Qizilbash; she is wearing attire typical of upper class women in this country. This is indoor attire and for outdoors, she would wear an outer garment called a burq‘a, like the one on the right, which would cover her from head to toe. However, the author states that these women had more freedom than those in India.
