DROMEDARIES HALTING IN THE EASTERN DESERT
展示品
This lithograph portrays nomads resting in the shade of a megalith, on their way home after hunting. Their game is a gazelle that can still be found in the Eastern Desert. Perhaps, it was chased by the hound accompanying the dromedaries, and was brought down by a rifle. Many Muslims consider dogs to be unclean, but it was not uncommon for nomads to keep sheepdogs. On the left dromedary's saddle, the rider's handles that protrude on both sides can be clearly seen in this lithograph.
