Hawkers of Cohistaunn

Falconry thrived in the mountainous region of Kohestan that extends to the north of Kabul. Falcons were used to muster antelopes and bustards, while sparrowhawks were used to catch pheasants and quails. It took a trainer six weeks to train the falcons from the time they were captured; they were released after the hunting season ended.
