17【言語ダイナミクス科学研究】代表者：中山 俊秀 AA研基幹研究「言語ダイナミクス科学研究」は、①言語多様性の記録のための研究活動 (Language Description and Documentation) の活性化と、②言語運用と変化の実際、言語の多様性の実際をふまえた、ダイナミックな現象・システムとしての言語の研究 (Linguistic Dynamics Science)の新展開を目的として組織された。具体的には以下のような活動を通して関連研究を先導していく：危機言語を中心とした研究未開発言語の臨地研究の推進、記述研究を支える方法論開発と共同研究インフラの整備、言語運用の実際を基盤とした理論研究枠組みの再構築、言語の構造的多様性の幅と深さ、およびその多様性に見られる規則性の研究、言語構造の形成・変化に見られる規則性の探求とそれを形作る動機付けの多面的研究。本研究の第2フェーズ (2013～2015) では、これまでの3年間に築いた言語多様性に関する共同研究体制を維持発展させながらも、第1フェーズ(2010～2012) における研究の進展と近年の社会的要請の変化をふまえ、特に危機言語の記述とドキュメンテーション研究分野での学術成果の社会還元により力を注ぐ。【アフリカ文化研究に基づく多元的世界像の探求】代表者：深澤 秀夫 基幹研究アフリカ文化班の主たる活動目的は、グローバル化のなかで大きな変容を迫られているアフリカ諸地域の文化を研究するアジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所の人類学・地域研究（歴史学）研究者たちが、各自の研究活動に立脚しつつ、共同で多元的世界像の探求・構築を進めることにある。アフリカ文化班が扱っている具体的な主題には、植民地経験と社会変化、遊牧民/牧畜民と農耕民、人の移動と集団間関係、社会の中の女性/シングルなどがある。本基幹研究メンバー個々人がこのような主題に関する研究を進めると共に、基幹研究班全体として、公開研究会・セミナーの開催、海外研究者との連携によるシンポジウムの開催などを企画・実施し、ウェブサイトなどを通じて広く研究成果の発信を行っている。以上のようなアフリカ文化をめぐる基礎研究は、紛争・難民、政治的民主化、社会的差別など、現代アフリカの抱える諸問題の理解と解決に不可欠であるばかりではなく、それらの問題の根本にある近現代世界の構造そのものを問い直し、多元的な世界像の構築に寄与することを目指している。The goal of this program is to advance research on the nature of structural diversity among human languages and on the complex dynamics that shape the linguistic structure. Diversity and dynamics are aspects that have been significantly underestimated, or ignored, in mainstream theoretical linguistic studies. Traditionally, languages have been assumed to share a large part of the basic structure as Universal Grammar. However, a gradually increasing number of descriptive grammars on under-documented languages suggest that structural variation among human language is much deeper and more complex than we ever expected. Language as a system has generally been considered to be autonomous. That is, the properties of the linguistic system are independent of external functional forces, including socio-cultural, historical, and pragmatic forces. Such a view has begun to be questioned recently by linguists studying language change and the use of grammar within discourse. If we take the results of descriptive and usage-based research seriously, we need to reevaluate and reformulate the traditional theoretical framework. This project aspires to build a new, realistic theoretical framework for capturing the nature of human language. This program is run in coordination with the Linguistic Dynamics Science Project 2 (LingDy2).Historians and anthropologists at ILCAA are trying to grapple with contemporary problems on the African Continent by placing their research within the framework of a longer historical perspective. Research in this core research program is organized so as to promote a pluralistic understanding of the world. The topics include: colonial experiences and social change, migration of people and interrelationship of the groups, women and gender in the societies, etc. The research in the program sets out to question the structure of the modern world itself, in order to enhance our understanding of the historical background to such important current issues in African countries as conflict and refugees, political autocracy, social discrimination, etc. as well as to contribute to the fundamental solution of these problems. / 研究資源 / 研究者養成 / 共同研究 / 概要
