PHUG.

　This is the dialect of a wandering tribe in Thana, and has been returned as spoken by 1,000 individuals.

　A list of Standard Words and Phrases in Phug has been received from Thana, and it shows that the dialect is almost identical with Vva. Compare gh, a horse; p and pn, water; skar, a servant; r, four; hna, gold; st, seven; vs, twenty, etc.

　The inflection of nouns and pronouns is the same as in Vva; thus, tuy bb-ky ghart kav-ra pr ht, how many sons are there in your father's house? Tum-s, your, etc.

　The conjugation of verbs is also mainly the same, and the difference between the two forms of speech must, to say the least, be unimportant. Our materials are, however, not sufficient to decide whether Vva and Phug are absolutely identical, and it is there- fore safer to separate them.
