Fortress of Alimusjid, And the Khybur Pass
The Khaybar Pass holds a strategic position between Afghanistan and India. The Pashtun Afridi tribe occupied this area and made their living collecting toll or robbing travelers. An advance party of Pollock’s reinforcements suffered a defeat here, delaying the passage of the British army through the pass by three months.
